March 10, 2020: As a supply chain partner, PECO Pallet wanted to update you on our company’s response to coronavirus/COVID-19 and reassure you that we will continue to make every effort to serve the needs of our customers during this challenging time.
While the situation is constantly changing, these guidelines represent our best judgment at this point in time and the practical steps we are taking to reduce risk for our employees as well as our customers, colleagues and communities.
Precautionary Actions
Safety is always a top priority at PECO Pallet, and we have established a COVID-19 Action Committee that is meeting daily to identify the work streams and preparations we need to make as an organization.
We are fortunate that so far none of our employees or their families have been directly affected by COVID-19. We encourage all of our employees to follow the CDC recommendations regarding personal hygiene and public health. Employees who have the ability to work from home are encouraged to do so.
PECO employees who have any symptoms of illness are asked to stay home from work and seek immediate medical attention. Anyone who has been in direct contact with someone at risk for contracting COVID-19 will be quarantined for 14 days.
Our employees do not travel to any of the highly impacted countries like China, Italy, Iran, or Japan. Per the latest CDC travel guidelines, PECO is not currently restricting business travel within North America but will continue to monitor this situation.
Supply Chain Impact
At this time, PECO Pallet does not see any issues that would affect our ability to supply pallets to our renters and pick empty pallets up from our retail partners.
PECO maintains a robust network with more than 1,600 pallet manufacturing, recovery, sort, and full-service depot locations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. At this time, none of our depots has been directly affected by COVID-19. However, even if the situation worsens, we are confident that we will be able to serve all of our customers from multiple locations if needed.
We are working with our depots and third-party logistics companies to stay informed of their responses to COVID-19 and ensure that PECO can continue to supply pallets to all of our customers in a timely fashion.
Some of our renters have requested additional pallet loads in response to increased consumer demand for their products (e.g. paper products, bottled water, etc.). Please be sure to notify your PECO representative if you anticipate any significant changes to your pallet needs.
PECO uses only North American lumber in our pallets, and we have not experienced any disruptions from our suppliers.
Please be assured that PECO Pallet will continue to be mindful and take the recommended and necessary steps to minimize the impact of this epidemic. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact your PECO Sales or Service Representative.
